I am surprised at this.I was in the same situation. They just diagnosed it as Bipolar(nos). That means they are unsure of the specific type you have. They should be careful not to put you in the wrong catergory ,as Bipolar 1 and 2 usually have different treatment plans.Never be afraid to tell them how you're feeling because of meds. They can always adjust the amount or types of meds if it's not working for you.
Yup which if the psychosis is trauma based I have found docs don't differentiate between chemical and situational prompted psychosis. Because of this I am careful about what I have previously told to docs- like y'all are saying its so easy to get stuck with the wrong label. My psychoses were always prompted by significant and traumatic life events and I haven't been psychotic in many years but because I am in Oz I feel I can't be completely honest. Not the best for effective treatment :/ lol!
