Should I disclose condition to my new boss?

I personally see it on to need bases if you re coping well now and having no major episode what is it to him? Get to know him first see if you can trustful then confined in him. Now I hope you re not an air traffic controller or you need to carry a gun for your job … Just saying :)

Are you able to contact your old boss? It would be good to get advice from him. Its a difficult decision but i'd say bite the bullet and tell him. I say this as you would have explain frequents appointments. Tell him no one else at work knows, that you would like him to respect your privacy and that your old boss was totally happy with you as a worker. Good luck

My boss was my peer, so she already knew. I tell her two bosses I have dr's appts. Since I've had a couple health issues creep up they don't question it. My therapist advised me not to say anything or it might come back to bite me in the butt.

I would wait until asked. When I was at my worst earlier this year, I kept telling my boss everything that was going on until my therapist and doctor finally said "let's stop this. It's honestly none of their business. Only let them know if they ask. You don't need to be volunteering this kind of information. Not everyone understands mental healthcare". Eventually I was rehired.

Work is the one place I would NOT recommend upfront disclosure. If you want to explain your time off you can just leave it vague and say you have a medical condition.

Wait until he asks. I wouldn't volunteer the info. It's possible your previous boss already told him.

Thanks. I've actually known him for 20 years. We've worked side by side as peers, but now I am reporting into him.

Maybe you should get to know him a little first? Everyone is different & it sounds like your former employer was very compassionate. Good luck!
