I'm so saddened by your loss. I lost my high school sweetheart in a car crash and still regret our last conversation. Sounds like you parted on good terms. That has to be a blessing.

Thanks. I'm glad that there were no hard feelings between us. I just saw his obituary and picture and felt like someone had punched me in my chest.

Thanks. We started noticing each other in junior high and dated off and on in high school. Last time I saw him was a couple months ago. He was drunk and telling me how he had loved me when we were together and then we broke up when I chose another guy over him. Then I went off to college, which he understood, but then I got with my child's father - who also still lives in our hometown - and had her. He talked about how we almost made love but I wouldn't because he didn't have a condom. He said we should've been the ones who married young and had babies. He said I was looking at him like someone who was listening but not believing it. He wanted me to come back out and spend time with him. I didn't because I had plans to spend time with my parents. Besides, I knew what was on his mind and recently I found out he has a girlfriend with a very young child and another on the way. That could've been a huge mess and i don't want my visits to my hometown to be difficult. Before I left he hugged me and kissed my forehead. I couldn't believe he had all that feeling inside him after almost two decades.

He and his two friends were killed in a single-car crash. Police said it was probably due to speed and alcohol.

I really hate this.

I learned that a long term boyfriend (who broke my heart) died of a drug overdose. I understand that "weird" feeling. All I can do is thank my lucky stars that we didn't marry and start a family only to have him leave like that. I still think of him. When I pray, I ask him to watch over me and when bad things happen, I always blame Him!

Move forward; remember the good. You will be Ok.
